AFTER last week’s loss to Northampton, Matt Smith talked to his players about the importance of not “backing up errors” - the gist being that everyone makes mistakes, but making lots, as a team, in a row, will kill you at any reasonable level.
Unfortunately, that lesson was not heeded as Leicester shipped four tries in short succession in a mad period in the first half that killed the game as a realistic contest.
Things started brightly enough, as they had last week, with the opening try. An excellent move released Malelili Satala on the left wing…
BREAK: Will Wand, who put Tigers ahead against Coventry, before the home side shipped four tries
LEICESTER continued their losing start to the Premiership Cup campaign with a 33-19 home defeat to local rivals Coventry.
Once again the side selected by Matt Smith was not experienced overall, with youngsters making up the bulk of the team, but there was a smattering of first team players.
Regardless of the team, it was a disappointing performance for the second week…
Great additions, Trev!!!! Thank you!
